Football Jersey DIY Dog Treat

On game day, you can whip up some healthy dog treats that are in the shape of a football jersey. Find out how to make these DIY dog treats that are bound to score a touchdown with your pupper!

Whether you’re hosting a tailgate or having people and their pets over for Super Bowl or Puppy Bowl, these football jersey DIY dog treats will help you kick off your pet-friendly party. Plus, they’re healthy and easy to make, so you can be sure you’ll score a touchdown with your fur squad on game day.

Ingredients:

Cookie:

• 1 cup flour
• 1 heaping tbsp. peanut butter
• 1 egg
• 1 tbsp. water

Frosting:

• Natural blue food dye (or color of your choice) (optional)
• 4 tbsp. greek yogurt
• 4 tbsp. tapioca starch
• 1 tsp. milk

Breathe easy. In addition to sweating through their paw pads, dogs pant to cool themselves off. A panting dog can take 300-400 breaths (compared to his regular 30-40) with very little effort.

• 1 large mixing bowl
• 2 small mixing bowls
• Mixing spoons
• Measuring cup
• 1 football jersey cookie cutter
• Rolling pin
• 1 cookie sheet
• Cooking oil
• Piping bag (optional)

Yield: 6-8 football jersey dog treats
Serving size: 1 treat per dog
Prep time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 10 minutes
Cool time: 10 minutes
Total time: 35 minutes

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Add flour, peanut butter, egg and water to a large mixing bowl.

3. Combine ingredients with a mixing spoon until mixture thickens. Note : You can massage the batter with your hands if the mixture becomes too thick to mix with spoon.

4. When ingredients are thoroughly blended, flatten dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface until the dough is flat and ¼-inch thick.

5. Use cookie cutter to create 6-8 goal post shapes from the dough

6. Place the cookie shapes 1 inch apart on a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until ready.

7. Let cool for 5-10 minutes and add frosting.

Frosting

1. Put half of the tapioca starch and yogurt in a small mixing bowl and the rest in another small mixing bowl. Mix until creamy.

2. Add milk and stir until you reach a frosting consistency.

3. Add food coloring to one of the bowls and mix.

4. Place mixtures into pipe bags.

5. Pipe frosting onto each treat into your favorite design (numbers, stripes, etc.).

6. Refrigerate to harden.
