Coronavirus restrictions may have changed Christmas as we traditionally know it, but that hasn’t stopped some people splashing out on presents for loved ones… or dogs for that matter.

Alisa Thorne, from Wales, has pulled out all the stops for her beloved pooch. The owner spent a week turning her garden summer house into a Winter Wonderland for her six-month-old puppy Fabio – which includes a dog-sized sleigh. The 52-year-old has gone to town on gifts, too, spending £600 on a custom-made Swarovski crystal bowtie and £130 on a Cavalli onesie to add to his 800-piece strong wardrobe.

She said: ‘I’ve had his bowl designed and looking for some more presents.

‘It’s been hard to find things in the lockdown but because I want everything to be custom-made for him.’

Fabio, a Chinese Crested Powder Puff, is used to the high life as Alisa frequently takes him out in his pushchair around their hometown in Rhondda Cynon Taff. Hairdresser Alisia said: ‘Fabio is my little baby and I love him to pieces. He’s so adorable and I just want to spoil him with nice things.

Help your pet be the best pet he can be. Train your pet by setting him up to succeed. There’s a reason for everything your dog or cat does, and the reason rarely if ever involves being deliberately disobedient.

‘I can’t wait to celebrate our first Christmas together.

‘I had so much fun decorating the grotto and I have lots of festive costumes to dress him up.

‘I don’t have much family so having a nice Christmas together means a lot to me.

‘I can’t wait to help him open his presents.’

So far, Alisa has spent more than £12,000 on Fabio since she first got him in July 2020, shortly after her 10-year-old dog Hugo passed away.

She’s also set up an Instagram account for her four-legged friend which now boasts more than 5,000 followers.

Alisa added: ‘He has just joined a dog modelling agency and already been for a few shoots. He’s just the sweetest dog.’
