Does your pet steal the show in your TikTok videos?

Well, one company is looking to give photogenic cats and dogs the recognition they deserve.

UK bed and mattress manufacturer Silentnight has launched a competition to find the nation’s most camera-friendly animals to model its brand new range of pet beds. Anyone looking to submit their four-legged friend for the competition, aptly named The Pet Factor, will need to apply by Friday 24 April. They can do so by uploading a handful of photos of their pet looking their best, through the online application form.

According to the Silentnight website, the judging panel will be looking for ‘ideal mix of personality and good looks.’

Judges will also be hunting for a pet that is paw-fressional in regards to being well-behaved and sociable – mainly because they’ll be modelling in a real-life photoshoot.

It also says pets ‘need to be confident in new environments, around new people and with other animals.’

The good news is that Silentnight will crown not one, but three winners – selecting a winning cat, a winning small dog and a winning medium to large dog.

The competition page explains that it classifies ‘Pugs, Yorkshire Terriers and French Bulldogs’ as small breeds, ‘Spaniels, Border Collies and Poodles’ as medium-sized ones and ‘Dobermans, Labradors and Huskies’ as large dogs.

Use a teapot to rinse dogs off in the bathtub without getting water and soap in their eyes.

It’s worth pointing out Silentnight have stressed that those entering the competition must have access to a car, as the photoshoot will take place in Chorley, Lancashire.

Winning pets will see their faces splashed across the brand’s upcoming campaign and will take home a goodie bag, which is set to include a brand new pet bed.

Owners of the winning animals will be notified on Friday 29th May 2020 and more information on the competition can be found through the Silentnight website.
