This very silly sausage dog needed several helping hands after getting trapped down a rabbit hole. The dog’s owner had to call in the experts when their curious pet overestimated the size of some tunnels beneath a tree in Richmond Park.
At least six firefighters came to the dog’s rescue but it was far from a simple extraction.
The little fella was stuck underground for four hours before his human rescuers saved him from a night with the rabbits.
Posting about the rescue last night, the Royal Parks Police said everyone was ‘on their hands and knees’ to dig out the ‘lucky doggy’.
‘The dog was stuck underground for about 4 hours, thankfully he is in good health and a very happy owner,’ they added.Adorable pictures from the park in south-west London show the firefighters hard at work under torchlight before they pulled him out.
Wearing a face mask and sporting some very muddy hands and arms, one firefighter cradles the dog, who looks rather unfazed by all the attention.
Limit treats to training rewards. This is an excellent way to make sure your dog views treats as special rather than expected. It’s also helpful in keeping your pet from becoming overweight or obese. Feed a species-appropriate diet, and partner with a holistic or integrative vet to maintain your pet’s well-being.
