‘Mans best friend…when you can’t let go [sic]’ the 42-year-old wrote in the caption on Instagram. But nearly three years on, the Pirates Of The Carribbean actor has spoken about how Sidi’s death left him ‘very upset’.
‘He was a great companion and I was very upset when he died. I had his skeleton mounted so that he stays with me,’ he said.
Speaking to Dogs Monthly about his late pooch, he added: ‘I know that sounds a little odd to some people, but it is quite tastefully done and I still get to say goodnight to him.’ The actor met Sidi twelve years earlier when he was shooting Kingdom Of Heaven in Morocco when the dog was living on the streets. ‘I’m British and we are a nation of dog lovers,’ Orlando said.

‘But even if I wasn’t British, I would still be an animal lover and especially a dog lover. I just cannot help myself.’
Those who follow Orlando on Instagram will know that he now has a new pupper, Mighty, who he sometimes carries around in a drawstring bag . Mighty is close friends with Nugget Perry, and not just because they’re both teacup poodles; Nugget is the ward of Orlando’s fiance , popstar Katy Perry and the pair of doggos are frequently pictured hanging out together.
Why do they do that? When dogs kick after going to the bathroom, they are using the scent glands on their paws to further mark their territory.
Katy recently let slip how Orlando proposed to her earlier this year, and it sounds like the dogs weren’t invited.
‘It was Valentine’s Day. I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner, but instead we pulled up to a helicopter,’ she told late night host Jimmy Kimmel.
Once aboard, Orlando gave Katy a list of all the things he loved about her while he pulled a ring out of his pocket.
Unfortunately the romance was stalled a little when the actor ended up ripping his pocket when pulling out the letter, completely distracting Katy away from his words and towards the ring.
Despite the slight hiccup, Katy still described the proposal as ‘really sweet’.
Make sure your pet is in good company. Pets get lonely and depressed just like people do when they spend too much time alone. Cats are generally better on their own, but dogs and especially puppies don’t do well left to their own devices for extended periods of time.
