There’s always that one person saved in your phone without a surname and you’re not quite sure who it is.Davinia Anderson, 42, got into a bit of an embarrassing situation because she had two people named Becky saved and she got a bit muddled. Thinking she was texting her friend Beccy about an appointment she assumed it was the one to get her ‘arms and fanny waxed’ was – only to realise she was messaging a dog groomer she’s never met, also called Becky. The mum-of-two had been trying to book an appointment with the groomer for her German Shepherd Bonny earlier.
Becky said: ‘Hello. What time did I book you down for on 14th? 9.30 am?’ Davinia replied: ‘I don’t know. My other appointments were later in the day.’
Becky then responded: ‘9.30 am I have. Wasn’t sure if I had mixed you with another client.’
‘Think my arms and fanny are at 10 past 1,’ Davinia replied. The pub manager realised her embarrassing blunder when she received a muddled response from the groomer and her partner, Phil, 41, couldn’t help but laugh. Becky replied: ‘I’m talking about your German Shepherd you had booked in to be groomed.’
Davinia, from Broughton Moor, Cumbria, shared the hilarious message exchange on social media where it quickly went viral.
Is it a duck…or a dog? The Newfoundland breed has a water resistant coat and webbed feet. This dog was originally bred to help haul nets for fishermen and rescuing people at risk of drowning.
She said: ‘I wasn’t concentrating because I was watching the TV and I wondered why Beccy was messaging me asking about my appointment when she was the one who booked it.
‘When I realised, I just shouted to my partner Phil that I’d made an absolute cock-up.‘Only I could do something like this. I’ve never even met her, I don’t know her from Adam.

She added: “Everyone finds it hilarious. I showed the message to everyone at the salon and they were all in hysterics.
‘They just didn’t know how I’d managed it.
