We love to pamper our four-legged friends with cuddles and lots of treats.

And sometimes we like to splurge on gifts for them – whether it’s home accessories or seasonal outfits.

But a new designer launch is very much at the top end of extravagance for good boys and girls.

Italian fashion house Moschino has unveiled a new line of designer dog clothes – and prices don’t come cheap. Fashion designer and creative director for the brand, Jeremy Scott, has launched a new range of pet clothes, with 14 ready-to-wear looks – as well as canine accessories.

INTERESTING FACT ABOUT YOUR PET: One of the fringe benefits of taking on the responsibility of pet ownership is that animals can be an instant icebreaker, whether they’re with you or you’re just using them as a topic of conversation.

Some of these items include jersey dog T-shirts, biker jackets and trench coats.

But, with UK prices ranging from £95 to £500, these wardrobe items will make a significant dent in a bank balance.

This particular piece is priced at £250.

Other shots from the launch show a miniature dachshund wearing a ballerina-style ball gown and another dog looking very grungy in a biker jacket.

Pitter patter. A large breed dog’s resting heart beats between 60 and 100 times per minute, and a small dog breed’s heart beats between 100-140. Comparatively, a resting human heart beats 60-100 times per minute.

The collection is also made up of fancy collars, charm leads and couture dog bowls – all of which can be purchased directly from the Moschino website.

Announcing the launch earlier this week, designer Jeremy wrote on Instagram: ‘I am so excited to finally share the news, I have designed a Moschino Pet Line. Modelling some of the house signatures are some of the most stylish dogs.’

This isn’t, however, the first venture into doggy fashion from the designer brand.

INTERESTING FACT ABOUT YOUR PET: Dogs that have been spayed or neutered live longer than dogs who are intact.

Back in 2018, Moschino collaborated with H&M for a collection of streetwear pieces for pets.
