A heartbroken little boy has made his own ‘wanted’ poster after a thief stole his sick family dog.Stacey Donaldson, 32, says her son Camron, seven, was up all night crying when their Boston Terrier Ralph, who suffers from a life-threatening illness, was snatched from his dad’s work van on Wednesday morning. Camron’s dad Craig Andrews shut Ralph away in the van outside a house on Fairfield Avenue in Bredbury, Stockport to unload equipment.
But when he returned minutes later, the four-year-old dog had vanished. After being left ‘devastated’ by the theft, Camron made a ‘wanted’ poster that shows a drawing of Ralph and Camron in the background crying.
It says: ‘He is cute and fluffy and is very gorgeous. He knew us as much as we knew him.
‘We miss him so much, we just want him home.’Stacey said: ‘He’s absolutely heartbroken. He was up all night crying. ‘He slept in our bed because he didn’t want to be on his own – Ralph usually sleeps in his room, Camron has a bunk bed and he sleeps on the top and Ralph in the bottom.’
Stacey, from Hyde, has now shared the drawing on a Facebook group set up to help find Ralph, who is on medication for his condition and also suffers from anxiety.
INTERESTING FACT ABOUT YOUR PET: Your dog can help get you a date! One study showed that a man’s chances of getting a girl’s phone number went from 10% to 33%, just by having a dog with them. In the study, a staggering 66% of men and women would not date someone who didn’t like pets.
She said: ‘We’ve had Ralph since he was a puppy.‘He’s quite an anxious dog, he doesn’t like being on his own so he always goes to work with Craig.
‘Craig has a gardening business, and he’d just arrived at a job on Fairfield Avenue at around 11am.
‘He was unloading the van – it was shut but not locked – it’s a really small road off a cul-de-sac and it’s really quiet, you hardly ever seen anyone down there.
‘He was gone a matter of minutes, and when he came back Ralph was gone.’The family are offering £1,000 for information that leads to Ralph’s safe return. They have been checking CCTV and believe he may have been stolen by someone in a white Vauxhall Combo van which came onto the road around 11am on Wednesday morning before driving off again. They are appealing for everyone in the area to check CCTV for the van, which is said to have two black roof rails.
