But there was a happy ending for the three-year-old dog, who has now been nursed back to health after a heart-breaking appeal from his owner, who also has four children.
Unemployed Adriano Bertoline had launched an online appeal as he could not afford to pay for Thor’s veterinary treatment.Limit treats to training rewards. After councillor Dr Jose Roberto Apolari saw the dog owner’s request, he stepped in and agreed to help.

Adriano said the councillor took the dog to the clinic, helped with the costs, and brought Thor home afterwards.
He added that this is the second time the dog has had an altercation with a porcupine in a year.
Back in February 2021, Thor was helped by Adriano’s friend, who was working at a private veterinary clinic.
