The video was created by Rob Schwartz, an advertising executive who told AdAge he undertook the eye-catching personal project as ‘a concerned American citizen,’ ‘I was seeing all the wonderful photographs of Joe Biden and dogs on the internet and thought it was interesting,’ he said. ‘All of a sudden it just materialized.’

Trump’s son Barron was 10-years-old at the time and allegedly teared up at the sight of the dog in a picture, but still the president never has owned one. While dogs and US presidents historically have been a staple of American politics, Ivana Trump, his first wife wrote in her 2017 memoir that her dog would ‘bark at him territorially.’ ‘Donald was not a dog fan,’ she wrote.
