He’ll be a little shorter than your usual surfer dude, though. And furrier.
That’s because this particular surfer is a bulldog, named Rothstein. His owner, John Garcia, 39, has been helping Rothstein learn to surf for the last two years, starting when the dog was just a one-year-old pup.The bulldog absolutely loves being out in the water, whether that’s surfing, swimming, or just hanging out at the beach.
‘We surf around five-days-a-week,’ said John. ‘We also run and swim almost daily to keep both of us healthy.‘He absolutely loves it and gets so excited when he is out at the water.
‘He also gets so excited when he is at the beach and he sees his human friends surfing and immediately wants to join them.
For a dog who loves to tear apart stuffed animals, make a durable activity ball with a Hol-ee rubber ball, scraps of fabric, and treats.
‘He is super energetic and fun-loving. We have such a special bond and total trust, which surfing has only amplified.’
