A heartbroken couple is appealing for their puppy to be returned safely after a gang of axe-wielding men broke into their home and stole her.
Callum Borg and his partner Jessica Glover, both 24, were asleep in their flat in Walkden, Manchester , along with their two-year-old son when they heard a smashing sound at 4.20am yesterday morning. After locking his partner and toddler in the bedroom, Mr Borg went into the living room where he was confronted by four men armed with machetes and axes.He suffered cuts to his arm during the attack, which saw the men make off with his 10-week-old dog Skylar – a pocket bully.Make your own pill pockets when you need to feed your dog some medicine.
The victim, who believes the thieves smashed into the home to steal their pet, said they disappeared in a white BMW.
In a post on social media, Mr Borg appealed for the safe return of Skylar, offering a reward for her to be left somewhere safe.
He said: ‘It was a very frightening experience. They were obviously after my dog. We want her back.’
Police were called and a forensics team took evidence from the flat on Petal Court. Detective Constable Joseph Morris, from Greater Manchester Police’s Salford District, said: ‘We understand this is a distressing incident for those involved, aswell as for the community.’ A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that officers attended the scene of the crime.They said: ‘Police were called just before 4am to an address in Worsley following reports of four men with weapons entering a property, and taking a puppy.INTERESTING FACT ABOUT YOUR PET: Dogs can be trained to to detect cancer and other diseases in humans.
