
Heartwarming pictures show an abandoned newborn who was ‘kept alive’ when a litter of stray puppies snuggled up to keep her warm.
The little girl, who has now been named Akanksha, was found naked with her umbilical cord still attached in a field in Chattisgarh, India.Shocked locals who stumbled across her claim she could easily have not have made it through the night as freezing winter temperatures set in.
The baby’s survival has been named a ‘miracle’ as nearby residents say the stray dogs around the area can be vicious.
Local representative Munnalal Patel was heading out to do chores one morning when he heard a baby crying.Spay and neuter your pet. Studies have shown that pets that are spayed and neutered live healthier, longer lives. Plus, spayed a neutered pets are less likely to develop behavior problems.
He said: ’At 11 in the morning, we saw that there is a newborn baby girl who was crying and lying alongside puppies in our village.
‘We panicked and informed the health department before the newborn was taken to the hospital for further checkup.’

Another local said: ‘It’s possibly the warmth from puppies and their mother itself who had kept this newborn alive.
‘Usually, the temperature dips at night and it’s already December. I must say, it’s her sheer luck.’
Someone named Premnath who lives in the area added: ‘It is a miracle only to find newborn baby surviving when stray dogs are lurking every now and then at the dead of the night.’ Akanksha has been referred to the Child Line Project and an investigation has been launched to find her parents.Senior IPS officer of Chhattisgarh Police, Special DG RK Vij has said he is shocked by the case.Keep a pet-friendly home. Your dog or cat is a part of the family. If she’s a kitty, she needs her own litter box in a quiet, out-of-the way corner, a scratching post or tree, her own toys, and a nice cozy spot for napping.
