It examined the frequency of seven anxiety-related traits, including noise sensitivity, fear, aggression, separation problems and compulsive behaviour, as well as sub-traits within these categories, such as tail-chasing.

However, Prof Daniel Mills, an expert in veterinary behavioural medicine from the University of Lincoln who has previously studied human-cat relationships, said the research has flaws, including that the team did not explore other possible types of bonds and did not repeat their experiments with strangers.

As much as it is important for your dog to socialise, it is equally important for us as pet parents to be socially responsible. Socially responsible pet parents along with well socialised dogs can open up many avenues and opportunities for our furry favourites.

Socialisation for dogs isn’t the same thing as humans interacting with one another. If your pet shows signs of tremors, diarrhoea, take him/her to your veterinarian for immediate medical attention.
