SHE’S the cat in a hat warming the hearts of Adelaide animal lovers visiting a special eatery this winter.

And given her very short-hair, the Devon Rex named Milk — one of the star attractions at Felixstow pet cafe Hashtag Meow — was happy to rug up in a scarf and hat to ward off the winter chill.

The cafe’s human visitors also have had to follow suit, after a series of near freezing minimum temperatures this month. Adelaide’s coldest so far was a minimum of just 1.7C last Sunday.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Mark Anolak said the cold nights and mornings — a result of a high pressure system — were here to stay — for now.

“Through the long weekend and even to the middle part of this week we are still dominated by this high-pressure system. It probably won’t be until Thursday or Friday that we start to get some warmer overnight temperatures,” he said.

'Snowpocalypse' hits Rocky Mountain National Park0:35

A spring storm dropped two feet of snow across Rocky Mountain National Park, between Grand Lake and Estes Park, Colorado, on Thursday, May 18. The National Weather Service forecasted Trail Ridge Road could receive 36 inches by Friday evening. The national park shared this footage from Trail Ridge Road, which is the highest continuous paved highway in North America with an elevation above 12,000 feet at its peak. “It is recommended to stay off all park roads, but if you must drive into the park, you will need 4X4 drive. Around two feet of snow has fallen and more is on its way,” the post said. Credit: Rocky Mountain National Park via Storyful
